Every month, we set aside one Friday to mow a lawn for free — for someone in Kyle, San Marcos, or New Braunfels who's elderly, living with a disability, or recovering from an injury or surgery, and simply can't keep up with the yard right now. If you know someone like that, we'd love to hear about them.
We started this after taking care of a property for a woman recovering from surgery, whose husband was working too many hours to help her keep up. That's the spirit of this program — someone who's dealing with age, a disability, or an injury or medical recovery, and just needs a hand for one mow. This isn't for financial hardship alone — it's specifically about age, disability, or injury/recovery.
This program is limited to our Kyle, San Marcos, and New Braunfels service areas. We aren't able to include Buda or South Austin properties at this time.
We read every submission that meets the criteria. Each month, we choose at least one person to receive a free mow — through a mix of random selection among eligible submissions and the story you share with us. There's no way to guarantee a spot, but every eligible nomination gets read and considered.
Free Mow Fridays covers one mow. It isn't a recurring service, and being selected doesn't create an ongoing commitment on our part — though we're always glad to talk with the family about setting up regular service afterward if that's something they'd want.
If you work with a senior center, caregiver support group, disability services organization, or similar nonprofit serving Kyle, San Marcos, or New Braunfels, we'd welcome you sharing Free Mow Fridays with the people you serve. Reach out at hello@laceyoaklawns.com and we're glad to coordinate.
Free Mow Fridays is a monthly program run by Lacey Oak Lawns, a locally owned lawn care company, providing one free lawn mow to an elderly, disabled, or injured/recovering resident of Kyle, San Marcos, or New Braunfels, TX — chosen from community nominations. Not a financial-hardship program; the focus is age, disability, and injury/recovery.
Press and interview requests: hello@laceyoaklawns.com or (512) 710-7344. Martin, the owner, answers personally.
This should come from someone who personally knows the person — a family member, neighbor, friend, or caregiver. Please take your time with the story below; we read every word.
We read every submission. We'll reach out to you directly if we need anything else, and we'll announce the month's Free Mow Fridays recipient after reviewing that month's nominations.
Questions in the meantime? Call or text us at (512) 710-7344.
It only takes a few minutes to tell us their story — and it means a lot to be considered.
